“Being a Phoenix Chorale Singer is like the best chocolate—sweet, satisfying, always makes you want MORE!!”

What does being a Phoenix Chorale singer mean to you?
Singing with the Phoenix Chorale has been one of the most significant surprises, honors, responsibilities, and joys of my life! Being in the company of such fine singers and musicians for the past 11 seasons—rehearsing, performing, recording, touring, talking and laughing at break time, developing and enjoying close friendships—these experiences are unforgettable. We’ve always had such an amazing team, and I’ve always been so proud to be included. And the music... well... often otherworldly! Being a Phoenix Chorale Singer is like the best chocolate—sweet, satisfying, always makes you want MORE!!

If you could meet any other artist/musician who would it be? Why? What would you do together?
I wish I could have met Sarah Vaughan—what a smart, sophisticated singer and musician she was!!  My dream day would unfold like this... we would sit around her house and listen to her records and the records of her favorite singers—she would tell me what she liked about her voice and each singers’ voice, point out all the distinctive vocal techniques and favorite musical moments we were hearing, share her secrets of how to be a great singer and storyteller.  Then she’d give me a righteous vocal coaching! She’d accompany on piano. To cap off this epic afternoon, she’d sing “Lush Life” for me. What a dream day...

What is your favorite song to belt out at the bar / in the car/ for karaoke?
“I Can’t Get Started,” by Vernon Duke.  Windows down, Ella Fitzgerald with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra playing LOUD on CD, me singing along, feeling like, just maybe, I’m singing with as much playfulness and heart as she is!!

What’s you motto or the advice you live by?
“The truth is that life is delicious, horrible, charming, frightful, sweet, bitter, and that is everything.”

  ~ Anatole France

What are three things you can’t live without?
1. Family and friends.
2. Music to sing.
3. Time by myself.

My goal is to find 30 people to give $60 in 30 days between March 9 to April 7, 2019.

Your support brightens our future and thank you!
